History and Overview

Nestled in the suburbs out of the hustle and bustle of the main Gold Coast strip, Club Robina is nevertheless a short drive from the lovely Burleigh Heads beaches and a fifteen minute drive from Broadbeach. With it’s three greens widely rated as some of the best on the Gold Coast and it’s distinctive “Robina” hedge, the club also serves as a major event venue within the Robina area and prides itself on being the “friendly community club”.

The club was founded in 1986, with 150 people attending the opening ceremony of the clubhouse, which at the time was one of the only buildings in the relatively new suburb of Robina. As bowlers will see, the suburb has grown up and around the bowls club and the club now has around 700 members (including social members)!

As well as running a vibrant social bowls program (mainly on Sunday), the club is also a popular functions venue and contains the usual bar, restaurant and pokies facilities. The club has an on-site car park which should provide ample parking for event participants.

The club runs regular food specials, including $10 lunch on Sundays for barefoot bowlers, trivia nights on Thursdays and roast of Wednesdays.

Personalities and Legends

One of the most distinguished bowlers currently playing at Robina is Pam Ellis, a former state champion and the holder of countless club and district titles throughout her distinguished career and the recipient of an Australian Sports Medal for her contribution to the sport.
