History and Overview

As one of the northernmost host clubs, Paradise Point Bowls Club is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and members, with two grass greens and their spectacular showpiece undercover green.

Paradise Point is a thriving club, with a regular entertainment schedule to complement its fantastic bar, dining and gaming facilities. Members and visitors alike are invited to take part in the clubs expansive bowls calendar, which offers something for everyone including social and barefoot bowls.

About the Club

Paradise Point is a three green club, with two grass greens and it’s spectacular undercover synthetic green, which will be used more extensively at this years’ Open. The club is well serviced by its restaurant, the Dolphin’s Cove Bistro which is open from 12pm – 2pm for lunch and from 6pm for dinner daily. A courtesy bus also operates on all days apart from Monday.

Personalities and Legends

Paradise Point is not short on bowling talent both from the past and today, with 2015 Australian Open Men’s Pairs runner-up Sam White currently serving as Bowls Coordinator. Former Australian stalwart and Australian Jackaroos’ Assistant Coach Robbie Dobbins is also still a regular at the club and Queensland legend Ray Glasser also plies his trade at the club and boasts a glittering resume at state level.

Thoughts on the Australian Open

Bowls Coordinator Sam White said the club was again excited about the Open. “It’s great to see the Australian Open on the Gold Coast and we are pleased to be a part of the event. We have a fantastic volunteer team here who will make sure all bowlers are looked after.” White said.
