With it’s magnificent facilities, the club has been a host to many state, national and international events, including the World Champion of Champions Singles in 2015 and 2016, and will be a host club for the World Championships in 2020 alongside Musgrave Hill and Broadbeach.

About the Club

The club runs three immaculate greens, with two being floodlight. The club doubles as one of the Gold Coast’s premiere entertainment precincts, with the Blu Bistro restaurant operating daily and the smaller Cafe 22 operating on site for breakfast, lunch and snacks as well as a large gaming precinct.

Club Helensvale is also one of the eight licensees within the Australian Premier League, with the Gold Coast Hawks being owned and operated by the club and featuring three of the club’s stars!

Club Helensvale is well known for producing and nurturing elite bowls talent, and a short glimpse at their current roster shows the quality at their disposal. Current Australian Jackaroos Mark Casey, Nathan Rice, Brett Wilkie and Lynsey Clarke headline the approximately 30 state and national representatives hailing from the club.

The young talent at the club is also strong, with former Victorian young gun Jayden Christie currently plying his trade at the club and another junior Shane White taking out three gold medals at the 2016 Queensland Junior State Championships including the coveted U18 Boys’ Singles gold medal.

Thoughts on the Australian Open

Club Helensvale legend and current Bowls Coordinator Lynsey Clarke shared her thoughts about the Australian Open with us recently. “The club love being involved in the Australian Open. We are a proud club, and we love to host top standard events such as the Australian Open and the World Champion of Champions here” Clarke said.

“We really enjoyed welcoming and looking after people from all over Australia and the world. These events can’t be possible without volunteers, and we are lucky to have a magnificent group who will again but in a fantastic effort in 2017.”

Events and Competitions

One of the major events on the national bowling calendar, Club Helensvale host their annual $60,000 5-a-side in September which includes teams from some of the biggest clubs from around Australia.
